Feminism is Not Misandry

My daughter, who is at least as vocal as I am when it comes to annoyances and assholery, has posted a Vlog about Feminism Vs Misandry. Basically, she asserts that some so-called feminists are truly misandrists at heart.

She said it, not me, though I gotta say, haters gonna hate. Some so-called feminists do seem to twist feminism into misandry (which, like many other kinds of hatred, does indeed exist - I've experienced it first-hand). Feminism is not misandry. Feminism is not about hatred. Feminism is about equality. If you doubt this, look up the respective definitions.

According to Dictionary.com:

fem·i·nism

[fem-uh-niz-uhm] Show IPA
noun
1.
the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.
2.
( sometimes initial capital letter ) an organized movement for the attainment of such rights for women.
3.
feminine character.

mis·an·dry

[mis-an-dree] Show IPA
noun
hatred of males.
Note, the "Feminism Vs Misandry"Vlog I linked to above was posted by an intelligent young woman who happens to be an honours graduate from Russell Sage College, a prestigious women's college. She was also named a Kellas Scholar, meaning she was named to the Dean's list for three or more successive term. In other words, she's no dummy. She also knows a thing or two about feminism.
